Scandic Food chose to make a straight conversion from glass to plastic for its stewed fruit range to make an immediate impact on consumers in Germany. And SuperLock caught the eye of Product Manager Claus Andersen at Scandic Food when the company was looking for ways to increase sales.

 

He says: "We wanted to bring something new to the German market and the plastic container SuperLock was a way to do it. Most of our competitors today use glass so the different look and feel you get by choosing plastic made sense to us.”

 

SuperLock is a plastic packaging with extremely low oxygen transmission rates. This is a result of a membrane seal combined with oxygen barriers on all surfaces. At the same time, the packaging withstands high temperatures so it is suitable for hot filling.

 

Claus Andersen adds: "It is excellent that the shelf life of SuperLock matches the one of glass and that we can use any part of the container for displaying our brand SVANSOE. The packaging allows us to send a signal of the high quality of our products that all offer great taste sensations.”
