Benelux dips and sauces market leader Remia has swapped round pots for customised, square ones from RPC Superfos, bringing improvements to taste, tamper-proofing and shipping.

 

The two companies worked closely together to develop the unusual pots for a range of sauces, from hot and spicy to a classic sauce for French fries.

 

The custom solution from RPC Superfos comes in 200ml, 280 ml, 400ml, 600ml and 1l sizes.

 

Among the benefits of the new packaging is the membrane seal, which helps prolong the shelf life of the sauce.

 

Remia’s Senior Product Manager Retail, Marcos Garcia Moral, adds: "The seal also provides for tamper evidence. This offers the consumer security by making it 100 per cent obvious that no one has opened the packaging on the shelf. It is also a benefit for the taste, according to our laboratory tests.”

 

Supermarket shoppers tend to make quick choices, so the right size at the right price is important. Remia believes the new range of sizes and more appealing, smoother shape reinforces its leading market position.

 

The new shape also has a positive impact on logistics, as more square units can be put into a container compared with the round alternative.
